Rajasthan government has launched a new scheme to provide two-time meals to the poor. Under Indira Rasoi Yojana, food will be provided to the poor and needy by the state government for only Rs 8/-. Indira Rasoi is a scheme through which two-time food will be provided to the poor and needy people of the state for just 5 to10 rupees. But it will be quite different from the Annapurna Rasoi Yojana. In this scheme, food will not be given through vans or vehicles, but now the scheme will be run from a permanent kitchen. There will also be seating for people.

- A person earning 100 or less a day will be able to eat two meals for just Rs 16.
- Deaths due to the inability to get food in the state will be stopped.

It will cost Rs 100 crore per year to run this new scheme of the government. Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot had reviewed the scheme himself in the meeting. This scheme is named after former Chief Minister Smt. Indira Gandhi, who dedicated her life in public service.
